LS8 im Endanflug in den Sonnenuntergang

Hallo Herr Weber,

Ich habe Ihnen ein Foto meiner LS8 beigefügt, fotografiert von Leo Benetti-Longhini aus seiner JS1 Revelation, als wir nach einem phantastischen Segelflugtag nach Hause flogen entlang den Berghänge von Tennessee und Alabama.

Acht von uns waren am Marion County Airport in der Nähe von Jasper, Tennessee an einem kalten Februar Morgen gestartet und am Ende dieses Tages war Leo über 1.000 km weit geflogen und drei andere von uns mehr als  600 km weit. Ich selbst flog eine Strecke von 851 km und verbesserte gleichzeitig den Tennessee Staats Rekord in der Offenen, 15 meter, Standard-, und Sports-Klasse 'Free Out and Return Distance.'

An dem Tag waren unsere Flüge die vier längsten der Welt , die beim OLC gemeldet wurden.

Das Foto zeigt mich während des Fluges über das Nickajack Gebiet zwischen Jasper and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

LS8 on Final Glide into the Sunset

Dear Mr. Weber,

I've attached a photo of my LS8a taken by Leo Benetti-Longhini from his JS1 Revelation as we were gliding home after a fabulous day of soaring the Sequatchie Valley and Lookout Mountain ridges of Tennessee and Alabama.

 

Eight of us launched from Marion County Airport near Jasper, Tennessee on a cold February morning and by day's end Leo had flown over 1000 km, and three of us had exceeded 600 km. I logged a total of 851 km and set Tennessee state soaring records in open, 15 meter, standard, and sports classes for 'Free Out and Return Distance.'

On that day, our flights were the four longest flights in the world posted on the OLC website. The photo shows me flying over the Nickajack area between Jasper and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The photo of the month for May 2010:

I also did a photo shoot that same day from a hang gliding ramp at Dunlap Tenn. The story is the same except, he is heading north on the Sequatchie Valley early that morning, so it's a little blue looking (typical of the mountains) in the valley.

I hope my photo meets your standards, and looks ok and you use it. I know you see so many photo's so I will understand.
